First, we gather together to know Jesus Christ in prayer, worship, Scripture and care for one another. We also desire that each person would know Jesus in their daily lives. Secondly, we want to make Christ known in the way that we love each other and care for our community.<\/p>\n<p>Our denomination, the Evangelical Covenant Church, has six affirmations that we hold to and believe. They are as follows:<\/p>\n<p>-We affirm the centrality of the word of God.<\/p>\n<p>-We affirm the necessity of the new birth.<\/p>\n<p>-We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the church.<\/p>\n<p>-We affirm the church as a fellowship of believers.<\/p>\n<p>-We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.<\/p>\n<p>-We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ.<\/p>\n<p>As a denomination, we want to focus on what unites us rather than what divides us. Each member of our church comes from a different background, but all can affirm these truths.
